Bathroom remodel by Home Healer Remodeling

In this project, the homeowners wanted to do some of the work themselves to save a little money by doing the dirty work of demoing the walls. Fixtures were taken out, plaster and lathe were removed over a period of time so when it was completed, we had a clean pallet to work with.

Framing was constructed for the new tub/shower faucets as well as a shower head, addition of a ceiling exhaust fan to vent the moisture and moving water lines to relocate the pedistal sink. We then removed the old double hung window and installation of a new vinyl window that is rot free from exposure to the shower.

Once the new walls were covered with moisture resistant greenboard, taped and mudded, tile was installed 4 feet up from the floor all the way around the room and to the ceiling in the shower area. Walls were painted, window trimmed out with rot resistant PVC molding and caulked.

New base molding was custom milled to match existing period trim-work, then new floating floor installed throughout the bathroom and into the hall. Lastly, the toilet, pedistal sink, light fixture and mirror were installed to complete the project; Just in time for a large family gathering over the Christmas holidays.
