This quaint little home built in 1908 was in need of an exterior makeover. The porch was no longer a safe entry and simply needed a new look. So, new look we are to give it...

Step one was to remove the old porch and cover.
Next was to dig 8 footings to hold the framing for this new 8 X 30 porch with landing and steps. Due to the specifications the homeowner wanted, much of this project was custom milled. For instance, though the framing is standard PT lumber, the decking was off the shelf 4/5 cedar and milled into a tight fitting tongue and groove decking.

With a shallow pitch metal roof, new electrical wiring and lots of custom milling, we have a new and much improved porch with lots of style. All details were paid attention to making this a one of a kind creation.

Almost every board on this porch was custom cut and milled. Finally, after much pain-staking time to get the exact look desired, the entire house was painted making the final dramatic change in looks. Cedar decking and steps were left natural and finished with clear coats and a highlight effect but to really set things off a little red trim was added and what a difference.

So, here we have it. Take a tour of the new porch from the inside, fully furnished with furnature, lighting and ceiling fans.
